Join one of our small groups (12 max) in this beautiful private villa in the quaint seaside village of La Manzanilla, Mexico. Over looking the Bay of Tenacatita, this lovely new villa has everything needed for a week (or two) of yoga and rest and relaxation! The outstanding beach is miles long and only a few minutes walk away. This perfect beach is ideal for walking, jogging and swimming. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets await you!

Two yoga classes per day incorporating meditation and pranayama
Traditional native sweatlodge (optional) on a private beach followed by a 3 course lunch in a very exclusive restaurant also on the same private beach.
**For the remainder of the dinners, explore the international cuisine offered by the many wonderful restaurants in the village, or if you prefer, buy fresh produce at the local markets and make your meal in our kitchen!

Yoga
The yoga sessions will be a balanced combination of sustained poses as well as poses flowing in a mindful progression from one to another (Hatha Flow). Mindfulness and focus on breath are an integral part of class. Attention is always given to basic alignment & therapeutic principals.
*Modifications are offered to help individuals understand and work with their own unique limitations.
*Classes are balanced with energy, to give you a good physical work-out and calm to keep you balanced.
Each morning session will begin with meditation and pranayama followed by a energetically balanced physical practice to energize the mind and body for the day ahead. Each afternoon the practice will explore the asanas more deeply; working to calm, restore and heal body, mind & spirit.
Food
You will be nourished by chef Eileen!

Eileen’s attention to detail and her devotion to preparing delicious, wholesome and nutritious foods will make this another great reason to join in on this retreat!
Accommodation
Our brand new luxury villa was completed in 2008. The villa sits on the bluff of a hill over-looking the beautiful bay of Tenacatita. Enjoy traditional Mexican open plan living spaces, with a spacious outdoor dining area and separate thatched-roof palapa next to the gated pool area and terrace. This villa consists of a main house and a large casita. In the lush landscaped garden, rest and relax, while beholding breathtaking views of the bay and village.
About La Manzanilla
La Manzanilla is located on the Bay of Tenacatita in the area known as Costa Alegre or “Happy Coast”. This quaint, friendly fishing village has a spectacular 5 kilometer sandy beach offering some of the safest swimming in Mexico. This walker’s paradise has many other activities to enjoy such as kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, and biking.
Only a 45 minute drive from Manzanillo Airport, the Village of La Manzanilla is unspoiled by crowds of tourists. You may be fortunate enough to view a mother whale playing with her calf or see young turtle hatchlings making their way to the ocean.
One of the pleasant surprises is the local restaurant scene. These excellent restaurants offer varied menus of Italian, Indonesian, American, and Mexican cuisine.

By Air
The most direct route is to fly to the city of Manzanillo (ZLO – Airport) Manzanillo Airport is approximately 45 minutes south of La Manzanilla, Jalisco – México.
Dinner at 6:30pm will be the start of the retreat. If possible please schedule flights to arrive before 5:30pm. We will finish at brunch at 10:30 am. If possible please schedule to leave in the afternoon.

Q: Should I bring my yoga mat?
YES, you must bring your own mat and a strap. The mats fold into your suitcase, or bring it in a yoga bag.
Q: What is the weather like?
The weather is generally hot but not excessively. The average air temperature is 80-85 degrees. The water temp averages 80-82 degrees.
Q: What clothes shall I bring?
For yoga:
Bring yoga shorts and/or longer yoga pants. Sleeveless and short sleeved tops.
Here are some suggestions for clothing:
Bathing suits, shorts, light weight pants, sundress/skirt, sarong, light weight socks, light weight vest, white or light coloured long sleeved shirt for sun protection, sun hat, sandals, flip flops, sunglasses.
Q: What other items should I bring?
Here are some suggestions:
Antiseptic hand wash, sun screen, insect repellent, drinking water bottle (sports type), vitamins, aspirin, medications.
Day size back pack or beach bag, camera, small binoculars, small flashlight, beach towel, books or magazines, a pocket sized Spanish dictionary.
Q: What about the drinking water?
Large bottles of purified water will be provided at the casa.
Q: Do we have internet available?
There is WIfi at the Villa for personal laptops
Q: What about money?
This is an ‘all inclusive’ retreat (except for 5 dinners). You won’t need to bring much money with you.
Restaurant prices are reasonable, (at American prices); allow $12-$20 per meal; add alcohol costs if you drink. Other than that, a bit of shopping money should do it.
Bring pesos if you can. American money is also accepted but you get a better deal with pesos. Restaurants do not accept credit cards or bank cards.
There are no money exchangers or Bank machines in La Manzanilla.
Also, there is a bank machine and several exchangers in Melaque a nearby village (a 20 minute bus ride away)

Alternatively, you can also fly to Puerto Vallarta or Guadalahara and rent a car or take a bus to La Manzanilla via Melaque or Barra de Navidad. The trip will be approximately 3 1/2 hours. We do not offer ‘pick up’ service from any other airport than Manzanillo.
